Garden Club Plant Sale

Each May right before Mother's Day, the Mahtomedi Garden Club transforms the picnic shelter at Wedgewood Park into a rainbow of color. The club sells a variety of annuals and hanging plants from a local grower priced competitively. Funds raised by this sale go to pay for garden club programming including our Sunflower Contest for elementary students, our Community Beautification Grants, and educational speakers.

Garden Tours
Sunflower Contest

Every spring the Garden Club provides sunflower seeds to interested elementary school students who then grow the seeds at home. In the fall prizes are given for the best specimens and all successful young gardeners are recognized for their efforts

Community Beautification Grants

The Garden Club takes its role in the community seriously and is devoted to "giving back". The Garden Club provides grants to groups and individuals interested in promoting public access gardens and gardening education in our community.

Triangle Park/City Hall Pots

The Garden Club plants the large raised beds at Triangle Park each spring as well as takes responsibility for the large flower pots outside City Hall. Members take turns designing the annual gardens.
